Souled Out!
September 20th, 2009
Ahhh! Souled Out is such a good place to become! Yes, this statement is a dichotomy. We are invited to a moment in time when we become Souled Out yet, everyday we are becoming more and more Souled Out as we journey with Christ. As I trust more, learn more and mature more I achieve a deeper level of Souled Out. From glory to glory is the way of Souled Out. As we gain more of Him and less of us. As His purposes become our own.
But still there has to be a moment that you actually become Souled Out. That moment you lay it all out for Him. The moment your soul opens up and says “this is the way”. “ This is my purpose, my destiny my calling. To become Souled Out. To Him, for Him, about Him, in partnership with Him.” Just typing these words brings this extraordinary feeling of freshness and freedom to my core. Most likely because I have lived the polar opposite of that statement. The bondage, the resistance, the loss. We were created to become Souled Out. Once that occurs there is a freedom and a release that can match no other experience in this life. The place of Souled Out is the ocean all my rivers flow from. Souled Out is a singular act and an extended journey. And believe me when I say religion can keep you from ever becoming Souled Out and free. A dichotomy in itself, right?
I am filled with anticipation as we embark upon this journey together! A journey that will ensure we all move closer to the prize which is Christ himself.
I think back on the years I lived so high functioning on the outside but shut down on the inside. The condition of my soul was so fragile but rugged, willing yet ever resistant, hurt but strong, afraid yet seeking. Tired yet forging forward. Doubting that God could do anything with my condition, or would want to. James 1:8 says…a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. One foot in and one foot out keeps our souls in such turmoil. The decision eventually has to be made. A resolvolution has to take root at some point. We are to become as the likeness of Christ and this occurs with each step we “offer” up to Him. He doesn’t come and take it. He is trustworthy with the most fragile of souls. In fact he is the great physician of souls. The only physician.
Think about what Souled Out means to you. It is a ministry of freedom for me. What was your Souled Out moment & what has becoming Souled Out meant for you? Let me hear from you. If this is your maiden voyage then “taste and see that the Lord is good!”
